Alex Iosevich
Alex Iosevich is a professor of Mathematics at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. He has been involved in teaching activities of different types since college. While at the University of Chicago, he volunteered at Brethart Elementary, an inner-city school where he taught innovative math classes. During his graduate studies at UCLA, he ran a chess club at an elementary school in East Los Angeles. Throughout his mathematical career at McMaster, Wright State, Georgetown, the University of Missouri, and the University of Rochester, he has taught a variety of classes, run numerous summer programs for college and high school students, and been involved in mathematics competition training. In 2014, he won the Professor of the Year award in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Rochester, an accolade bestowed by the University of Rochester Student Association.
